A Halloweekend night in Prospect Park: a giant game of capture the flag where prediction markets get a dark comedic twist.

a halloweekend evening game of capture the flag in prospect park what would you do to know the future? we used to tell the future through stories, prophecies, reading messages in tea leaves and tarot cards. there was a community that thrived on these predictions: fortune tellers, scryers, witches in huts and The Oracle from her perch on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. but these days everyone seems to look elsewhere to tell the future. complex machines, data centers, AI agents... all claim a role in the future-telling that used to belong to eldritch horrors and creepy women-of-the-woods. center to this shift is the prediction market, and the tech bros running Kalshi, Polymarket, and other shady ventures in future-telling. in a night of raucuous running and curious questing, we'll gather in the Nethermead to play a giant game of capture the flag, in which three teams will take prediction markets to their dark comedic extreme, where everything gets a price, even your own survival. when did we lose faith in ambiguously worded prophecies?

kick off halloweekend at 7:00pm by the flatbush carousel entrance to prospect park. we will play a couple rounds of a giant game of capture the flag, with quests, intrigue, and plenty of insider trading, of course.

please arrive on time and stay til the end. this is a closed container, which means late arrivals and early departures won't be permitted, out of respect for the game. after the game concludes at 9pm, we'll transition to a casual hang in which you can come and go as you please as we enjoy the spooky vibes of the park at night.

costumes encouraged, but wear something you can run in. this will also be a phone free gathering, so get a headlamp or flashlight now, as it will be dark in the park! see you soon ✿
