Annual Open
Southwark Park Galleries' Annual Open is London's longest-running democratic exhibition where artists at any career stage can submit artworks without selection criteria, making it an inclusive and open platform for artists living or working in the UK. In 2025, over 460 artists and 715 works in drawing, painting, photography, print, sculpture and film were exhibited, now is your chance to be part of our 2026 iteration.
From its inception in 1984, the ethos of the Annual Open has always been about accessible participation and creating opportunity. Instead of a judging panel for entering the exhibition, alumni from our programme select a winner to receive a £500 prize towards a solo presentation in our Lake Gallery Salter Space – our community focused gallery named in honour of Bermondsey hero Ada Salter (1866-1942), a social reformer, environmentalist and London's first female mayor.
We are pleased to announce this year's judge as Turner Prize and Jarman Award shortlisted artist Sin Wai Kin.
All works are for sale with proceeds split between the artists and the gallery, with the funding raised contributing to our future programme.
