A MOVING ASSEMBLY is the first group exhibition by Level Five members. During a four-hour performance, a one-day exhibition, artworks by 65 artists will be taken out of storage, shown temporarily, then replaced by new works: the exhibition stays in constant movement, like our assemblies. — Expositions · Installation, performance · Musées et art centers

Level Five is an organization in Brussels, run by artists for artists. Together, we provide workspaces and care for one another. We meet regularly in assemblies, where we make important decisions about our community and about how we share space and resources. These meetings are essential: they reflect the collective changes we have made over the years, because members and context change, and because we are always trying to improve our structure so that we can take care of and empower ourselves. What if we brought one of these assemblies to the public and, for the occasion, replaced the people with the artworks they made?

That is the idea behind A MOVING ASSEMBLY, the first-ever group exhibition by Level Five members! During a four-hour performance, the artworks will follow a choreography: taken out of storage and shown for a limited time, they will then go back to storage as new works are brought in and installed. The exhibition will stay in constant movement, just like our assemblies. A Moving Assembly will show what we do in our studios, both individually, as artists from many different backgrounds in Brussels and beyond, and collectively, through interactions and movement. The exhibition will be hosted by Komplot on Saturday, November 21st, from 2 pm to 6 pm, for a very intense afternoon. Everyone is welcome to share this moment with us!
