Learner drivers practise responding to emergency vehicles in realistic on-road simulations, with a police-checked briefing
Learn how to respond appropriately to emergency vehicles and personnel through realistic on-road simulations
Rockhampton Learner Driver Night #1 Get ready for Yeppoon's first evening dedicated to learner drivers! Please Note: All learner drivers must supply their own vehicles and Supervisors for this event. Learner Drive Nights provide learner drivers with a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a safe, controlled environment.
Participants will learn how to respond appropriately to emergency vehicles and personnel through realistic on-road simulations, helping build confidence when interacting with the people who keep our communities safe.
The aim of this course is to familiarise learner drivers with situations involving emergency vehicles and personnel. From safely giving way to emergency vehicles, to understanding what happens during a traffic stop and Random Breath Test (RBT), participants will gain valuable hands-on experience.
The evening begins with a short classroom briefing before learners head onto a preplanned circuit for practical driving activities. By the end of the session, participants will have a better understanding of how to react to flashing lights and sirens, and what to expect when interacting with emergency service personnel.
This event is open to Learner Drivers (and their supervisors) only. A valid Learner Licence will required to participate and will be checked by police upon arrival.
