Liz Jones & Broken Windows
An intimate Sunday evening of rootsy blues and 60s-tinged psychedelia with Liz Jones & Broken Windows
Liz Jones & Broken Windows return to The Acorn for a second Sunday of "peaceful debauchery".
Twists of roots, blues and psychedelia, in a vibe that lies firmly with the 60s spirit of free music. Liz Jones & Broken Windows sound only like themselves, but have comparisons to Little Feat, The Faces and Fleetwood Mac, similarities lying in stage buzz and a wave goodbye to neat boxes, each tune simply taken on the path it carves. Live shows are a wild mix of genre celebration and creative musicianship. Stalwart UK Blues fans will recognise Jivin' Johnny Bruce from Edinburgh's farthest travelled blues group; Blues'N'Trouble.
Corralling some of Scotland's best players, this six-piece have the talent to roam beyond the prescribed pentatonic box ... the title track (to Double Measures) is a winningly wonky gypsy-jazz lurch. Classic Rock Magazine
