Cruising the Archive

On Saturday 25th of July, I’ll be presenting ‘Cruising the Archive’ at Cinema Rediscovered 🎥

This is a free drop-in event alongside the screening of Friedkin’s film. There will be photo books from @martinparrfdn as well as community responses from the time and various ephemera detailing the controversy the film engendered when the script was leaked in 1979.

The aim is to create a respectful space where the film can be discussed - both recognising the homophobic elements and bad timing of the film, alongside its frank and visceral depiction of pre-AIDS BDSM culture in New York.
