For fans of all things progressive, Poly-Math are an instrumental prog band from Brighton & London, UK, blending Ethio-jazz, classic prog, post-rock and math-rock.
Formed in 2013, Poly-Math have released several EPs and albums as three, four and five-piece lineups, including a crowdfunded double album and two remotely written and recorded lockdown releases. They were early favourites at UK avant‑garde festival ArcTanGent, performing there between 2013 and 2018 and appearing on the main stage in 2018 with a triple drum kit setup.
Their music is expansive and varies from album to album, drawing on influences such as King Crimson, Mulatu Astatke, Omar Rodriguez‑Lopez, Juan Alderete, Ill Considered and Ukandanz.
