Yasmina Reza's comedy about three friends battling over a blank painting — a hilarious look at art, ego and friendship.
How much would you pay for a painting with nothing on it? Would it be art? Three longtime friends, one ridiculously expensive painting. Is it art, or is it just the world's priciest inside joke? What starts as an argument about what truly constitutes art quickly becomes something much bigger. Friendship, ego, taste, loyalty and identity all get dragged into the fight. With friendships hanging in the balance, the question becomes: how much is a work of art worth?
Taste, money, ego and other fine arts. "Art" is a hilarious and moving look at what we really see and forgive, in the people we love.
