Stage Combat 13-18yrs Workshop 2 with Robin Hellier - PYT 60
Practical stage combat workshop for 13–18 year olds with Fight Director Robin Hellier, focusing on unarmed choreographed fight sequences.
Dramatic combat is the art of making fights on stage and screen look real and thrilling for the audience, while keeping the performers safe.
In this half-way workshop we will explore a range of practical unarmed techniques, then put them together in the context of a choreographed fight sequence. Expect to punch, slap, grab, throw and fall over - all safely and repeatably!
We will be highly active and on our feet the whole time, so please wear clothes and shoes that you feel comfortable moving in (no jeans or boots!), have a layer that you can put on / take off as we warm up, and bring a bottle of water and any snacks you would like to have with you.
Robin Hellier is a Fight & Intimacy Director for stage, screen and motion capture, and is a certified Teacher with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. He teaches dramatic combat at drama schools including East 15, ArtsEd and MetFilm School London, and runs training courses across the UK.
