There are moments when working together gives rise to something that no one could have achieved alone. Something that wasn’t there before the encounter began and that disappears as soon as it ends. Philosophy calls it emergence. We call it the seventh field.

There are six known fields that describe us individually and collectively: the physical, the cognitive, the emotional, the social, the creative, and the spatial. The seventh opens up only in genuine collaboration—often fleeting, usually unique, and therefore indispensable.

The number seven has always marked the step beyond the known: seven notes before the octave repeats itself. Seven colors before light becomes white again. seventhfield brings together artists from various disciplines, without a fixed location or a fixed form. Each edition finds its own home and leaves it again. What remains is that which could only arise through collaboration.
