LEARN: Returning to Art
Weekly drop-in morning art workshop for adults led by artist and teacher Lynne Mackay to explore materials and rebuild creative practice
A weekly art group for those returning to art after a break. A chance to try a variety of materials in a friendly, informal and sociable group. Returning to Art is a refresher course to rekindle the love of art from school for those who haven’t had a chance to continue; it’s an opportunity to reignite the spark for the creative subject. You can book the whole term or attend a single session.
If you are looking for a course in a specific art technique please see Lynne's Monday afternoon short courses which offer smaller groups and detailed teaching in individual art forms. If you are returning to art, consider starting with the morning session and progressing to an afternoon course once you feel confident.
The term will take an extended break due to rehearsals for The Nutcracker between late October and early December. Please refer to the schedule listed for term dates.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP LEADER:
The course is led by Lynne Mackay, an artist and secondary school art teacher for over 20 years. Raised on the Somerset Levels, she is inspired by local landscapes, flora and fauna and by Cornish seascapes. Lynne works in pencil, acrylic and watercolour painting, reduction lino printing, hand embroidered felt appliqué and machine embroidery.
