Pottery Gingerbread House
Hands‑on pottery workshop with Helen McCormick to build and decorate a festive gingerbread house (12+; under‑18s accompanied)
Join us this October half-term for a festive and creative Pottery Gingerbread House Workshop, perfect for young people aged 12+ and adults alike!
In this fun and hands-on session, you'll be guided by ceramicist Helen McCormick as you learn how to build and decorate your very own charming gingerbread house using traditional hand building techniques. Whether you're new to pottery or have some experience, this workshop is designed to help you tap into your creativity and bring your unique gingerbread house to life.
Helen will lead you step-by-step through the process of shaping the clay, adding delightful details like windows, doors, and festive embellishments. You’ll also have the opportunity to decorate your house with intricate textures, creating a piece that will make the perfect holiday decoration. All materials and equipment will be provided.
This workshop is suitable for those aged 12 and over. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+. If you are accompanying a young person and want to join in yourself please purchase your own ticket. Please bring an apron or wear old clothes and, if possible, trim any long nails to help with the clay work.
Your completed gingerbread house will be fired in Helen's kiln and returned to you. Finished pieces will be available for collection approximately six weeks after the workshop; we will notify you of the collection date and time.
The workshop runs 10:15 - 16:45. Please feel free to bring a packed lunch; tea and coffee will be available in the workshop room.
