Traditional Lazarim carnival with handmade wooden masks, parades, artisans and drumming over four days
Carnival in Lazarim is one of the most genuine in the country. It has wooden skeletons, demons and little ladies, flour broth, tradition and catharsis.
The caretos of the Carnival in Lazarim have handmade masks carved from alder wood, a very old tradition.
In Lazarim, the bulk of the festivities take place during the four days before Carnaval. During those days, the village is filled with activities to promote the caretos, such as the meeting with artisans, the photographic raid and the ethnographic parade, with local caretos and also guests from abroad, to the sound of resonant drums.
