Drumming through Stories

Join us for a lively children's drumming workshop with Joe Loughlin from The Gathering Drum, inspired by the stories, rhythms and traditions explored in Susan Hughes' exhibition at The MAC. The session will include with a child-friendly tour of the exhibition led by our Children's Artist in Residence - Rachel, introducing visitors to Susan's fascinating work exploring storytelling in Irish culture through video, sculpture, sound and installation. Children will then create music together through drumming, discovering how rhythm has long been used to share stories and bring communities together. No experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and energy!
