This beginner-friendly class is designed to help you create a professional book cover using Adobe InDesign and prepare for binding at the library. You'll learn the fundamentals of InDesign, including how to design an eye-catching book cover and ensure your files are ready for print and binding. If you are an author, this course will guide you through each step of the process, from the first draft of your cover design to the final preparation for binding. By the end of the course, you'll have the skills to create a polished book cover ready for binding.
• Introduction to Adobe InDesign's interface and tools.
• Step-by-step guidance on designing a custom book cover with text and images.
• Basic principles of typography, color, and layout for book covers.
• Prepare your InDesign file for binding using EPL’s bookbinding equipment, with proper export settings and file types.
• Best practices for exporting high-quality PDF files suitable for printing and binding.
This class is intended for people who have a manuscript ready to print.
NOTE: There is a cost to print and bind your book.
If you are just interested in bookbinding at EPL, but do not have a book to bind, you can attend the Personalized Notebook class. There is a $7.50 cost for the notebook class.
