Textile Drive

One week only. July 27 - August 1, 2026.

Help the San Ramon Library reach our goal of diverting 1000 pounds of textiles from landfills! Did you know that over 14.5 million tons of textiles enter U.S. landfills or are incinerated each year? Or that the fashion industry is responsible for 20% of global wastewater? But you can help! Bring us your old clothes and textiles and we will help ensure they get REUSED or RECYCLED.

ACCEPTED TEXTILES (Both reusable and damaged)

• Clothes: Shirts, Pants, Jeans, Dresses, Suits, Shorts, etc. • Outerwear: Coats, Jackets, Gloves, Hats, Scarves • Footwear: Shoes, Boots, Heels, Sneakers, Sandals • Undergarments: Bras, Underwear, Socks, Slips • Linens: Towels, Sheets, Comforters, Blankets, Tablecloths • Accessories: Hats, Belts, Ties, etc. • Other: Handbags, Wallets, Backpacks, Stuffed Animals

NOT ACCEPTED

• Textiles that are wet, moldy, or contaminated with chemicals or bio-hazardous waste (cannot be recycled) • Mattresses, furniture • Pillows, cushions, and pet beds • Fabric scraps and fabric material • Suitcases • Oversized items

Items will only be accepted the week of July 27 - August 1, 2026. Please do not leave items outside.
