Join us for a film screening of Shane (1953).
Best Picture nominee is a classic Western about a wandering gunslinger, a veteran of too many range wars that have left him reluctant to fight, who takes a job as a ranch hand with a family of embattled homesteaders being harassed by ruthless cattlemen. Both Brandon de Wilde as the youngster who idolizes Shane, and Jack Palance, as a cold-blooded hired gunman, were nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
