JAM Contact Improvisation | Friday evenings from 19:30 to 21:30
Welcome, this Friday evening in Ghent for our contactimpro jam! We meet into dance, joining an open, mixed level jam space to train, explore and celebrate the practice of contact improvisation.
In summer the Friday jams take place at DEVLOER (Broei, Nieuwland 69, Ghent — NOT at R7!)
Doors open & arrival: 19:00 Guided warm-up: 19:30 Followed by an open jam space Closing circle: 21:30
Alternating hosts facilitate the space, with changing focuses during the jams (silence or live music, projection or light, drawing, photography or filming — will be announced).
Contribution: sliding scale €10–€20
ABOUT A CONTACT IMPRO JAM ● a jam is a co-responsibility space to dance, train, deepen and celebrate the practice of contact improvisation (CI)(it is not a class) ● CI starts from the exploration of physical laws and forces while moving through space, in physical contact with someone else, sharing and carrying weight along the way ● all levels of experience are welcome ● dancing can happen in duo's, trio's, alone or with the whole space and group ● dances can last short or long ● when a dance partner leaves, my dance doesn't need to end, it can continue its flow, transform and find new chapters
