EL'AN AND FRIENDS
Karlsruhe world music band EL'AN mixes folk, oriental chants and European melodies for a singalong, danceable evening.
With a mix of folkloric songs, traditional rhythms, oriental chants and European melodies, the band EL’AN from Karlsruhe invites the audience to sing along, dance and chill.
Their songs are self-composed, their lyrics joyful, melancholic and poetic. World music that could hardly be more global, performed by musicians from different cultures who set out together to travel musically around the globe — that is the band El’an.
The name has different meanings in the musicians' languages that all suit the formation around Nesrin Goldbeck, Tom Boller, Vladimir Ivanov, Peter Götzmann and Roland Schäfer. In Arabic EL’AN means “the moment”, in Turkish “now, still” and in German “momentum”. It is therefore not surprising that El’an also travels linguistically around the globe, as they sing in Turkish, Arabic, German, Kurdish, French, English and Russian.
With their stage presence and the talent to engage spontaneously with the audience, they have so far delighted crowds at events such as Das Fest Günther Klotz-Anlage, Watthaldenfestival Ettlingen, Tollhaus Karlsruhe, Museumsfest Schloss Karlsruhe, city festivals, kick offs, corporate events and European cultural days.
Doors 19:00, start 20:00.
