Immersive Exhibition Vincent Van Gogh
THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE OF THE YEAR
"At this exhibition, you will not be spectators β you will become part of the painting."
An extraordinary project dedicated to one of the most iconic artists in history β Vincent van Gogh. The immersive exhibition VINCENT VAN GOGH transforms SPORT MALL Bratislava into a vibrant world of colors, emotions, and light, where the boundaries between reality and art gradually dissolve.
This multi-sensory artistic experience takes visitors on a breathtaking journey through the final stages of Vincent van Goghβs creative life, transporting them to the French towns of Arles, Saint-RΓ©my-de-Provence, and Auvers-sur-Oise. It was there, between 1888 and 1890, that he created works now regarded among the greatest masterpieces in art history.
For the very first time, this exceptional exhibition focuses on Johanna van Gogh-Bonger, known as Jo, the wife of Theo van Gogh, telling the moving story of Vincentβs final years from her unique perspective β an emotional narrative that deeply resonates. More than 400 works are presented: bold, powerful, and visionary creations that were once rejected by the world. What follows is one of the most remarkable stories in art history: Jo, alone and without formal education, dedicates herself to ensuring that Vincent van Gogh will never be forgotten.
Through an audio guide, visitors are accompanied throughout the exhibition as Johanna van Gogh-Bonger symbolically takes them by the hand and leads them through the life of Vincent van Gogh. At the heart of this powerful story lies the profound bond between Vincent and his brother Theo van Gogh β friend, supporter, and the most important source of stability in his life. Their intense and historically documented correspondence forms the emotional core of the exhibition, making VINCENT VAN GOGH an unforgettable experience filled with art, emotion, and inspiration.
"I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream."
Using state-of-the-art technology, van Goghβs works are projected onto surfaces up to 10 meters wide and over 4 meters high, creating a breathtaking visual experience that reimagines his unmistakable colors and brushstrokes in pulsating light.
THE MAN BEHIND THE MYTH Vincent van Gogh is considered one of the most important artists of Post-Impressionism and profoundly influenced the art world through his expressive works. He only began painting seriously at the age of 27, after working as a bookseller, teacher, and lay preacher. His life was marked by existential crises, family conflicts, and health problems. Yet through art, he discovered a language whose letters and words were colors.
BETWEEN LIGHT AND SHADOW When Vincent van Gogh took his own life in Auvers-sur-Oise in July 1890, he had sold only a single painting.
