
Sketch Level Two: Writing Premise Driven Sketch Comedy
Seven-week intensive sketch-writing course (Wednesdays 19:00–21:30) focused on premise-driven sketches and staged student readings
Learn to develop and heighten strong premises in sketch comedy! This seven week writing intensive course will build on the principles of comedy writing with a focus on writing premise-based sketches. Students will learn how to develop strong premises and heighten them over the course of a scene.
In the second half of the course, students will edit and punch up their material. This course includes a staged reading of student work. Prerequisite for this class is Sketch Level One at Stomping Ground.
This is a writing intensive course with one to two hours of writing per week expected outside of class. This course will focus on: Establishing and heightening comedic premises in scenes Parody, commercials, and satire Working in a Writer’s Room Editing and punching up material
This is a recurring class for seven weeks on Wednesdays from 7-9:30pm starting Wednesday, July 8. The instructor is Kristal Milazzo. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment may be deferred to a future class with TCD approval. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older.
