
One City Day: Mt. Davidson
Community volunteer clean‑up and habitat work at Mount Davidson Park as part of San Francisco’s One City Day.
About One City Day Join us for One City Day — San Francisco’s first-ever citywide day of service! On Saturday, July 11th, San Franciscans across all 11 districts will come together to volunteer, connect, and show up for the city we love. Whether you’re gardening, cleaning up a neighborhood, packing supplies, or creating art, there’s the perfect project for all ages and abilities.
About This Project Explore Mount Davidson Park. Join the Natural Resource Division enhancing the most diverse native scrub community in the City. Mount Davidson is the highest peak in San Francisco offering spectacular views of San Francisco’s skyline, bay, and the surrounding coastal mountains. This park offers habitat for numerous resident and migratory birds, butterflies, and insects - awe inspiring all year. Please wear closed-toed shoes and dress in appropriate clothing for physical work. Everyone 14 years old and older is invited; anyone under 14 yo must be accompanied by a guardian. Tools and gloves will be provided.
What to Expect - A brief speaking program will take place from 9:15–9:45 a.m. To fully enjoy the program, please plan to arrive between 9:00–9:15 a.m. for check‑in. If you prefer to skip the speaking portion, you may arrive at 9:45 a.m. to check in before volunteer activities begin. - When you get to your project site, your project host will welcome volunteers, go over the day’s activities, and provide a quick safety overview. - Volunteers will work alongside neighbors, community organizations, and city partners for approximately two hours. - There will be an opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers after your project wraps.
What to Wear/Bring - Dress in layers and wear closed-toe shoes. - Bring sunscreen and a reusable water bottle. - Additional supplies (gloves, tools, bags, etc.) will be provided by your project host unless otherwise notified.
