Interactive Programs

Docents offer interactive programming throughout the museum, including Highlights tours, gallery spotlight talks, and hands-on cart programs.

Highlights tours of the museum generally take place daily at 10:15 AM and 1:00 PM. Additional tours may be offered on the hour between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM as docents are available. Please check either Welcome Desk for today’s schedule. Programs are subject to docent availability and last-minute cancellations may occur.

Gallery spotlight talks take place throughout the day: a docent offers a 15-minute overview of an exhibition or briefly discusses a favorite museum object; look for the "Docent on Duty" signs posted outside exhibition entrances.

Docents stationed at carts help visitors get hands-on with the museum's collections. Carts are located throughout the museum; check either Welcome Desk for today’s schedule. Year-round: available most days between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
