INDIE SHOWCASE
Three-band indie night in Lemon: J‑rock covers, video game jazz fusion and retro soundtrack rock.
We're proud to be a part of Chicago's vast, rich and diverse music scene by hosting a showcase of Indie musicians:
-- JTOPIUM!
--ELITE FOUR JAZZ BAND
-- ANDY'S CRITICAL HITS
JTOPIUM! is what you get when a couple of Latinos and a Filipina sharing the same love and appreciation for Japanese music just so happened to cross paths at the right time. We are a J-rock cover band, with a repertoire that consists of fun, catchy, and nostalgic Japanese songs. If you like anime and video games, you've come to the right place.
In a world where the overworked masses find only solace in the dulcet timbres of vintage video game soundtracks, the Elite Four Jazz Band rises to the occasion. The E4JB preaches their gospel of the supremacy of video game music, featuring tunes from the original Mario Bros to Angry Birds. The group features Tommy Grapes, Andy Maya, Sam the Beef Cheek, and Willy Bob Law on horns, keys, bass, and percussion, respectively. Chicago has not been safe from fuzzy clarinets, sultry string pads, and squeegee bass lines.
Dust off your cartridge and prepare for a live performance of your favorite video game soundtracks from Mario, Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, Kirby, and even more! This jazz fusion group reimagines popular soundtracks into fresh, funky, and tasteful arrangements that will perk up your ears and inspire an urge to dive back into your favorite video game. Load up your new save file with Andy's Critical Hits!
