Highdown Goblet - Dance Workshop

Come and help us celebrate the historic Highdown Goblet in the newly reopened Worthing museum. The session begins with an introduction by artist Jane Couldrey, to the goblet’s remarkable story - its creation in the eastern provinces of the Roman Empire in approximately 400 AD and its journey to Highdown hill where it lay undamaged for 1600 years. Next, participants will have the opportunity to join a dance workshop led by Gill Emerson. “Together, we will embody elements of the stories behind both the history of the Highdown Goblet and the mythology surrounding hares.” The workshop will refine and bring to life a new dance called The Highdown Goblet. No previous experience needed, physical differences welcomed, don’t worry if you don’t have a dance partner, we will find you one. Recommended age, 8+ years We will be dancing to an original song by local musician Phil Jones, performed live.
