Learn new skills in a relaxed and interactive group setting! EasyTech Seniors is led by Malhar, a local high school student with a passion for helping senior citizens embrace technology to enrich their daily lives.

For the best experience we recommend bringing your own mobile device, but you can also follow the demonstration on the projector screen and take notes.

• Jan 24th - Library apps for reading eBooks - an overview of SJPL's e-books collections from the library website with a focus on Libby/Overdrive - How to adjust reading settings like text size and lighting, and how to use the audiobook controls. If time allows, another app - Hoopla will be covered.

• Feb 28th - Using Zoom for Meetings and Social Connection - How to join meetings confidently or host simple meetings. Use of controls like muting and un-muting audio or video, how to see and use the chat function. Troubleshooting basics will also be covered.

• Mar 28th - Using ChatGPT - How to use ChatGPT to summarize long documents, organize items like receipts, ask effective questions and protect your privacy. Using ChatGPT responsibly will also be covered.

• April 25th - Managing contacts effectively and setting reminders - Add and organize contacts on your device. Create groups (family, emergency). Backup and sync safely. Set recurring reminders for daily tasks. Integrate reminders with calendars.

• May 23rd - Demystifying AI

• June 27th - Spotting AI Scams and Fake Messages

• July 25th - Emergency Features on Smartphones

• August 22nd - Google Translate for Travel and Communication - Use text, voice, and camera translation. Save common phrases for travel. Practice offline translation.

• September 26th - Using ChatGPT - How to use ChatGPT to summarize long documents, organize items like receipts, ask effective questions and protect your privacy. Using ChatGPT responsibly will also be covered.

• October 24th - How to Make Your Phone Easier to See - Adjusting text size, using the magnifier, voice to text, and dark mode.

• November 28th - Using Siri or Google Assistant - How to activate and use voice assistants Siri or Google Assistant. Practice common commands (weather, timers, calls). Manage privacy settings and shortcuts.
