Two‑day interactive advanced communication course for healthcare professionals on palliative and end‑of‑life conversations
The session is delivered by a team of health professionals with specialist skills, experience and training in communication in palliative care.
THIS IS A 2 DAY COURSE RUNNING 9AM-5PM BOTH DAYS!
The following topic areas are covered: Reinforcement of core communication skills; Practical use of the Calgary Cambridge Communications Skills model; Review of the evidence base for effective communication; Skills practice in advance care planning and end of life conversations.
Who should attend?
The course should be attended by health care professionals whose practice involves end of life conversations and who have previously undertaken communication skills training at intermediate level to be familiar with communication skills models.
The aim of this two day interactive course is to enhance health care professionals’ communication skills when delivering palliative and end of life care. This will involve observation of practical demonstrations of communication skills and enabling participants the opportunity to practice their skills in a safe and supportive environment. Participant numbers are small to ensure the learning is person focused.
