Open Decks w/ Steen & GUAN

Hosted by DJ and musician Steen, Open Decks is a creative and fun space where DJs can hang and share their house and techno music live. Hear your favorite or original tracks on Silo's front room sound system, a custom 15,000 watt Danley powerhouse.

If you want to play, talk to Steen to sign up. Sign-up is in person at the event only, slots are 12 minutes.

The first 3 DJs play first-come-first-spin. Then we'll select names randomly from the sign-up list throughout the night, with extra weighting for DJs who arrive earlier. You'll get a half hour notice before your set time. This is to ensure that DJs who can't make the initial sign up right at 8pm still get a chance to play.

This week's co-host is GUAN, an AAPI DJ collective started by friends Jesse (BOYU) and Sandy (SANDEL). Inspired by the Chinese character 馆 (guǎn), which represents a gathering space for cultural activities, GUAN aims to promote Asian-American talent within the electronic music scene, particularly in our primary genres of techno, melodic techno and tech house.
