OFFline presents: The Song Cycle
Film
In 2022, musician and filmmaker Nick Kelly cycled from his home in Dublin to the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England - carrying his guitar, tent and all the other essentials. He was accompanied by his friend and 'Dogs' collaborator Sean Millar , who was following the same route on public transport. The pair stopped to perform in different venues along the route, making their way towards a grand finale at Glastonbury.
Nick's charming documentary about the journey proves a celebration of sustainability in its many forms, while also allowing the filmmaker to thoughtfully reflect on his relationship with his late father. It's a film that encourages viewers to stay in the saddle and keep pedalling, whatever the weather, traffic or gradient faced. Winner - Best Independent Film - Galway Film Fleadh 2024 "A small film but perfectly realised on its own terms. Kelly could hardly be more agreeable company" - Donald Clarke, The Irish Times " The Song Cycle exudes a contagious, positive human energy" - Marco Minniti, Cine Clandestino (Italy) Presented by OFFline Film Festival in partnership with Access Cinema
