After 30 years of friendship, Leslie Dowdall & Flo McSweeney came together in 2025 to celebrate the music of Linda Ronstadt & Carole King with their new show 'Natural Women'. With four packed shows under their belt (in Vicar St, The Lark, The Abbey Tavern and Draiocht Theatre) they now take their show on tour around the country. To mark their union, Leslie & Flo have released a single in celebration of life, longevity, friendship and the enduring power of music. Poor, Poor Pitiful Me was written and recorded by the great Warren Zevon in 1976. The following year Linda Ronstadt recorded it and reached 31 on the US Billboard Charts. Ronstadt also changed some of the lyrics so it went from a male to a female perspective. Zevon's original lyrics included a verse about meeting a girl at the Rainbow Bar, whereas Ronstadt famously changed the narrative to meeting a boy in Yokohama. The Band: Leslie & Flo have put together a great band for the show and the recording including Peter Eades (MD, Keys, Guitar, BVs), Hugh Buckley (Guitar), Paul McAteer (Drums), Tony Molloy (Bass, BVs).
