2026 New Faculty Teaching Orientation
Half‑day orientation for new UBC faculty with institutional leaders, a faculty panel and a UBC resources fair; lunch provided
Welcome to the 2026 New Faculty Teaching Orientation (NFTO) — the official kickoff event for this year’s CTLT Summer Institute. We are delighted to have you join us for a half day of connection and inspiration.
This year’s orientation is a special collaboration between the CTLT and UBC Human Resources, reflecting our joint commitment to supporting both your professional growth as an educator and your personal well‑being as a member of our community. As part of the day’s programming, we are honored to welcome President Benoit‑Antoine Bacon and Simon Bates, Vice‑Provost and Associate Vice‑President, Teaching and Learning, to share their vision for UBC.
Alongside peer insights from our Faculty Panel, you will participate in activities designed to help you hit the ground running this term. A central highlight of the day is the UBC Resources Fair. Embedded directly within the orientation, this fair brings together key teams to support your teaching journey at UBC. Whether you’re looking to refine your syllabus with the CTLT, explore your faculty benefits, or integrate new media into your classroom, this is your opportunity to build a personal network of support at UBC.
Come ready to learn, connect, and begin this exciting chapter of your career at UBC. Lunch will be provided to keep the conversations going.
DUE TO LIMITED SPACE, THIS EVENT IS RESERVED FOR FACULTY MEMBERS, INCLUDING LECTURERS AND SESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS. Please register to secure your spot.
