Presenting SYREN: a pre-release screening and live performance event at The Horse Hospital exploring revenge, glamour and what it means to be the object of attention, starring performance artist Søren Müller and adult film star François Sagat.

Søren Müller will preview their debut short film SYREN alongside a live performance at an exclusive one-time-only event hosted by latex spinster extraordinaire Monique Fei and iconic dancer Tomique Gibson at The Horse Hospital. Post-show, DJ sets by DJ Jessica Sarah and Dan(na) keep the party going.

Intertwining idiosyncratic approaches to performance, fashion, movement and film, SYREN follows a sleek and enigmatic narrative, with styling by Yaz Exall, in which the titular figure, a non-binary sex robot, kidnaps a classical subject of the patriarchy.

In their directorial debut, Søren Müller illustrates an enduring attraction to glamour, sexuality, and spectacle. Rather than rejecting the position of being looked at, SYREN brazenly points to the possibility of desiring the gaze from a self-determined perspective without submitting to its historically troubled implications.

Drawing on film noir, Americana, and pop imagery, the film adopts familiar tropes and pushes them towards excess. SYREN seizes upon the power of imagery already circulating within the collective cultural consciousness, merging these motifs to create a new persona: simultaneously femme fatale, sex object and villain.

With SYREN, Müller turns the gaze back on itself, transforming the spectacle of glamour, sex and power into a space of agency, fantasy and unapologetic desire.

Søren Müller is a performance artist working across movement/dance, fashion and moving image. In their work, Müller illustrates an enduring attraction to glamour, femness, and spectacle while pushing imagery already circulating within the collective cultural consciousness to excess. In their short film debut SYREN (2027), Müller launches their interdisciplinary art practice in a cohesive body of work for the first time being both director and performer. Their movement practice blends heels, contortion and contemporary dance.

Notable credits include performing a solo performance of “selfie sticks” at the ICA (2026) curated by Maite de Orbe and Operformancef, performing in FKA twigs’ durational piece The Eleven at Sotheby’s (2024), a lead role in HYSTERIA at the ICA (2025), and winning the Hessian Latin ballroom championship (2017). Müller will complete their fashion studies in 2027 at Central Saint Martins.
