Ged Palmer is excited to be joining the team at Enseignes Brillo in Paris for a special weekend workshop in brush lettering.

This workshop focuses on developing "Script and Casual" lettering styles in the traditional signwriting method. Perfect for both beginners and professionals, it covers essential brush control and techniques for these two expressive single-stroke styles, commonly used in signwriting, commercial lettering, and other artistic disciplines. Past participants have come from backgrounds in scenic art, graphic design, calligraphy, type design, illustration, and fine arts.

Workshop details

Students will learn and refine their brush lettering techniques under expert guidance. The workshop will cover five casual styles and one script style, with additional variations demonstrated. Whether for personal projects or a career in lettering, this workshop is a great way to expand your skills and creative potential.

What's included: sign painting brush, water based gouache paint for lettering, 24-page handbook with alphabets, layouts, and further reading, lunch on both days, tea coffee & refreshments.

About the venue

Enseignes Brillo is Paris's premier signwriting studio, set up by Louis Lepais & Etienne Renard in 2020. They produce exquisite hand crafted and gilded signs informed by a deep knowledge of typographic design and hand-lettering.
