𝙊𝙁𝙁𝙀𝙍𝙄𝙉𝙂 3: 𝙖𝙝𝙢𝙖’𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙠 (𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚∼𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝∼𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚) - Cycle 2

Sharing more beautiful images of Rae-Yen Song 宋瑞渊 𝙊𝙁𝙁𝙀𝙍𝙄𝙉𝙂 3: 𝙖𝙝𝙢𝙖’𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙠 (𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚∼𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝∼𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚) , performances in the exhibition •~𝗧𝗨𝗔~• 大眼 •~𝗠𝗔𝗞~• . Cycle 1 took place over the opening weekend of Glasgow International.

Announcing the second cycle of performances which will happen over this, the last, weekend of Glasgow International. The second cycle features multiple dancers, with a new, dramatic soundscape by Flora Yin Wong and choreography by Aniela Piasecka.

The choreography follows the narrative of Song’s ancestor tua mak who drowned at sea in 1950s Singapore. Beginning underwater, tua mak’s sunken body fragments and disperses as it feeds innumerable others. A multiplicity of life bursts forth from the singularity of death. Sound and movement shift this dissolution upward, as water evaporates to sky and the bodily becomes meteorological, then spiritual.

Both performative cycles feature drifting ancestral clouds - embodied by the artist and family members. The Song family will provide live instrumentation to the dancers movements, as the performance unfolds within •~TUA~• 大眼 •~MAK~•.
