À propos

Meskel commemorates the discovery of the True Cross by Empress Helena in the 4th century. The centrepiece is the Demera, a bonfire built around a tall pole topped with a cross, lit at dusk in Addis Ababa's Meskel Square before crowds of worshippers in traditional white dress.
