Solo exhibition by Arvin Arta exploring Islamophobia, militarisation and the material politics of the internet
Arvin Arta’s first solo exhibition uses elements from early 2000’s fan culture and video games to draw a link between post-9/11 militarisation and Germany’s contemporary political landscape.
With a mix of carnivalesque irony and unsettling horror, Clouddomination focusses on the relationship between Islamophobia in the media and the systemic violence of the US-European war machine.
Arta brings the tech industry’s cute, fluffy metaphor of the digital Cloud back down to earth, asking how the material infrastructure of the internet enacts domination.
