Ourida — French‑Algerian singer-songwriter — performs indie pop/world quartet live at Drom
**Ourida** is a French-Algerian songwriter, singer, pianist and ukulele player based in Brooklyn who blends folk rock, art pop, worldbeat and jazz grooves. Born in Paris and having lived in Marseille, she has performed internationally in Canada and Brazil.
Produced by Eli Crews (tUnE-yArDs, Marc Ribot) and Ourida, ‘Wings’ (2022) is an indie pop / art rock album with world music touches — sensual songs about multicultural life and women’s freedom of expression.
She now performs in a quartet with Jeff Miles (guitar), Ari Folman-Cohen (bass) and Jason Nazary (drums), delivering a sound that resists a single era. Critics note traces of Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse and Nina Simone in her musical DNA.
