Do you like to write poetry? Need some inspiration to get back into writing? Never read or wrote a poem in your life? Come to Wordplay and get into poetry!

Astrid Larson, the librarian at Crest, is a certified teaching artist of poetry through a group once known as Teen Writers and Artists Project. Back in her home state of Illinois, she had hosted Wordplays for children, teens, and adults, judged poetry for Slammin' in the Sundown and the Upstate Eight Literary Festival, and served as an assistant coach for the 2015 Mooseheart Child City and School high school team at Louder Than A Bomb. She's shared her poetry throughout Jo Davies County Illinois and Kane County Illinois and had her poetry and nonfiction published in local Illinois community colleges and writers' groups.

Ms. Larson would love to bring this workshop to Crest and get patrons writing! This workshop provides a relaxed environment to welcome any patron no matter what their knowledge of poetry is. All are welcome at this event, and writing material is provided.
