Teen Art Lab
Weekly teen hands-on workshops to make art from recycled materials led by local instructors
Using recycled & repurposed materials with an emphasis on DIY ethics & aesthetics, you'll create one-of-a-kind art in a style all your own. Special sessions will be led by local art instructors from Get Stabby Creations:
7/3 - Trash Postcards & Wax Stamping
Design postcards using collage or other mediums, plus learn to seal a letter with a wax stamp.
7/17 - Trash Jewelry Making
Starting from soda tab fidget bracelets & bottle cap buttons, repurpose surprising materials into pieces of one-of-a-kind wearable art.
7/31 - Stencils & Bleach Printing
Transform that plain black tee by creating your own stencils, & learn to safely use a bleach mixture to bring a design to life. Black fabric works best - a limited amount will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own! Instructors will handle all chemicals during the program.
8/7 - Carved Eraser Printmaking
Learn about relief printmaking and how to safely use printmaking tools, then try your hand at carving your very own stamp from a regular rubber eraser. The stamp will be yours to keep!
