Suicide prevention workshop
Two-day culturally safe I‑ASIST suicide intervention training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities at Redfern Community Centre
Connection Works, in collaboration with UNSW and with support from the NSW Ministry of Health, offers fully funded I‑ASIST workshops to Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations, services and communities across NSW.
This is LivingWorks’ Indigenous-specific suicide intervention training — designed by and for Indigenous communities, grounded in cultural understanding and community strength.
What is I‑ASIST?
I‑ASIST is a two-day workshop that builds confidence and skills in recognising when someone might be at risk of suicide and how to intervene in a culturally safe way, within a framework that honours Indigenous ways of knowing, healing and caring for one another.
This free 2-day training will teach practical intervention skills and a structured approach to safety planning through interactive scenarios, small group activities and practice yarns with feedback.
This workshop is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforces, communities and individuals. Non-Indigenous allies are also welcome. Participants receive a certificate of completion.
