A hidden‑gem venue where art and sound collide. We’re excited to feature Eva for our intimate SONIDOS concert series at the Colores del Movimiento CM Creative Studio.

About the artist:

Eva Gertz was born in Boston, MA to a mosaicist and interior‑designing mother, and a jazz bassist and music‑teaching father. As a high‑schooler she split her electives between chorus (where she accompanied on piano) and art class (where she learned to make things with her hands). She often incorporates visual art with her music through dance‑filled self‑edited music videos, watercolor album art, and handmade merch.

Gertz holds a bachelor’s from Berklee College of Music (Contemporary Writing and Production; minor Conducting). She composes and arranges original songs and covers, and has arranged for visiting artists at Berklee including A.R. Rahman, Susana Baca, and Julio Iglesias. She released her debut album in 2018 influenced by folk and jazz artists such as Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon.

From 2018 she held a residency aboard Holland America Cruise Lines in Alaska performing nightly as part of a dueling pianos act. With 500+ popular cover songs in her repertoire, she also frequently performs for private events and weddings.

In 2021 Gertz left Brooklyn for a five‑month solo road trip across the US, which produced the original song and video "Little Know It All" and led to a new body of work. Her album Worth the Drive was backed on Kickstarter and set for release in October 2024.

She currently lives in Boston, teaches as an assistant professor at Berklee College of Music, gives private lessons, and performs original music and piano bar sets. In her free time she pursues photography, painting, poetry, and The Artist's Way.
