SCORCHED EARTH INVITES SKEE MASK FOR ITS DEBUT CLUB NIGHT AT HALL ON THE 5TH OF SEPTEMBER
As fields burn, they grow back stranger. Scorched Earth is a new night for electronic music in Tallinn with a simple ethos: leave nothing of use behind and hold nothing in reserve. A club night burns once; what remains is ash and hearsay.
For more than a decade Bryan Müller aka Skee Mask has run a scorched-earth campaign against the machinery every artist is told they need. Pulling catalogues from Spotify, keeping Instagram grids empty and refusing every profile until Resident Advisor finally got that sweet one and named him "the immovable object". What survives the burn is the music, and the reverence for it borders on the religious.
Four albums released on Ilian Tape with "Compro" alone sitting as close to canon as the underground allows. Skee Mask's production engages and recontextualizes the entire '90s continuum of breaks, dub and ambient techno without ever falling into a nostalgic temperament. Some might say that beyond one of the greatest producers of the modern era there lies an even greater DJ whose absurd range of dance music is played as a single language, committed entirely to the floor, without any unnecessary theatrics.
So we've decided to let him set everything ablaze on the 5th of September at HALL.
