Sankofa D.E.A.R. Time With Thuba Nguyễn

Youth and families. We invite you to join Dr. Talaya Tolefree in her Sankofa D.E.A.R. Time challenge to Drop Everything And Read! Meet a different local Black author each month who will read from their book and share their creative writing experience to affirm, nurture and empower young readers.

This month, special guest author Thuba Nguyễn will read her book " My Daddy Tells Me ." It's about the extraordinary love shared between fathers and daughters. Nguyễn uses her book as a tool to amplify the biracial Asian-Black narrative in AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) literature. Her mission is to inspire other voices from underrepresented communities to share their stories through different mediums of art. Followed by an interactive activity or craft. Materials provided.
