Rawda Mabrouk — Grounded & Flowing Workshop
Two free Animal Flow movement workshops for adults with dancer-choreographer Rawda Mabrouk on 9 and 16 August
Rawda Mabrouk leads two movement workshops for adults that introduce Animal Flow foundations through a fusion of somatic movement and contemporary dance. Animal Flow is ground-based movement designed to improve strength, flexibility, mobility and coordination. No formal training is required. Participants are encouraged to attend both workshops, as the second session builds on concepts introduced in the first.
Workshop 1 – Open Level (Sunday, August 9 · 12:00–13:30) · Riverview Room Open to all adults, no prior experience required. This workshop introduces participants to foundational Animal Flow patterns combined with somatic movement and contemporary movement exploration. Participants will explore mobility, coordination, grounding, and creative movement in an accessible and supportive environment. The workshop focuses on how Animal Flow principles can be integrated into everyday movement and posture, mobility and strength practices, dance and improvisation, and mind and body coordination.
Workshop 2 – Open Level / Recommended for Movers (Sunday, August 16 · 12:00–13:30) · Riverview Room Recommended for participants with some movement background (dance, yoga, fitness, martial arts, athletics, etc.), though still open to anyone interested. This session expands into flow combinations, traveling patterns, improvisation, and contemporary movement integration, allowing participants to explore Animal Flow as both a conditioning practice and expressive movement language.
