Tugboat Captain: All At Once
South London's Tugboat Captain have spent nine years restlessly evolving from scratchy lo-fi home recordings into baroque-pop ambition and beyond. A five-piece built around Sox, Josh Cobb, Dougal James, Sophia Bartlett and Georgia Mancey the band has always made records that feel communal and alive, with a revolving cast of collaborators and an instinct for sharp unexpected pop hooks.
All At Once is the record that shows exactly where they've arrived. Recorded at their own studio Ctrl P in South Bermondsey it's their most technicolour and hi-fi work yet. Sweeping strings collide with jagged synths and tender moments tip into anxiety. Darker and more volatile than anything they've made before and at the same time the one that sounds most unmistakably like them.
