Prototyping the Future
An afterwork lab convening RadicalxChange, Plurality and Planetizen to prototype value shifts for governance, AI and sustainability with Michel Bauwens and Martin Calnan
In an age of accelerating technological change and growing institutional strain, how do we redesign the way we coordinate, govern, and build?
This is our event #2 bringing together RadicalxChange, Plurality, and Planetizen — this time in collaboration with UNESCO Chair for Future of Value Ecole des Ponts Business School.
Each movement approaches the world’s biggest challenges from a different angle, yet they share a common way of working: treating ideas, institutions, and technologies as prototypes to be tested, iterated, and improved through collective intelligence.
During our exploratory event #1, we addressed three questions:
• Planetizen — How can sustainability remain relevant in a world shaped by geopolitical fragmentation? (Manifesto & Planetizen Club Brief)
• Plurality — how should we understand and govern the impact of AI at a societal level? (https://www.plurality.net/)
• RxC — Network Societies; values and new coordination mechanisms? (Vitalik Buterin & Towards "Civilizational AI")
For this event #2, we will bring all movements to ponder one single issue throughout our shared afterwork lab: “Every Revolution is a Value Revolution: which Value Shift would bring a positive outcome to the three questions above?”
To kickstart this afterwork lab, we are excited to welcome Michel Bauwens, founder of the P2P Foundation, and Martin Calnan, Head of the UNESCO Chair on Future of Value. Michel’s most recent work will help frame this question vis à vis the three movements. Martin’s Futures Literacy as Way of Being will help structure the theme from a Futures Literacy perspective.
