There were three huge Pride festivals in Brockwell Park, Brixton, at a pivotal time for queer rights in the UK. In 1992 about 100,000 LGBTQ+ people gathered in the park, marking a significant moment in the community's struggle for visibility and rights.
This guided walk explores the history of LGBTQ+ activism and community in and around Brockwell Park and Brixton, tracing key events, locations and stories that shaped Pride in the area. The route highlights memorials, meeting places, and sites of past gatherings while situating them in the broader social and political context.
