Open Sew
Drop-in sewing meetup for adults to work on projects, share advice and use library sewing machines every other Thursday
Visit The Spark on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month to work on your sewing projects. This is not a class; it's an opportunity to hang out, sew, and get advice if you're stuck. Bring whatever project you're working on.
We have the following equipment and materials available:
• Sewing machines with various presser feet • Black and white polyester thread • Iron and ironing board • Scissors and snips • Rotary cutter, acrylic rulers and cutting mat • Fabric scraps
Note:
• The November 26 session will take place on Saturday, November 28 from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm. • The December 24 session will take place on Saturday, December 26 from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm.
This program is for adults. Space and sewing machines are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. We have 8 sewing machines available. If you would like to use a sewing machine, be sure to sign the waiver ahead of time.
Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests!
An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least 7 business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or [email protected].
