New Visions Conference
A one-day conference at The MAC exploring innovative classroom methodologies for post-primary art education
The New Visions Conference invites teachers, artists, educationalists, academics, art and education students, young people and policymakers to explore alternative and innovative methodologies for the classroom and imagine creative solutions to current challenges in post-primary school art education.
Following on from last year's symposium, this year's conference will delve deeper into how we can build classroom spaces that nourish creative expression, critical thinking, and risk-taking for both ArtistTeachers and students.
New Visions is a 3-year project conceived by the MAC which takes inspiration from educationalist bell hooks’ vision for education, “Seeing the classroom always as a communal place enhances the likelihood of collective effort in creating and sustaining a learning community”.
