This interactive and informative session is designed to give participants a clear, well-rounded understanding of diabetes—what it is, how it affects the body, and what people can do to prevent or manage it effectively.

• Individuals newly diagnosed with diabetes or prediabetes
• Family members, caregivers, or community supporters
• Anyone interested in learning about diabetes, its impact, and ways to maintain health
🎯 Program Objectives
By attending this session, participants will:
• Understand what diabetes is, including blood sugar mechanisms, insulin’s role, and the distinctions between type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes
• Recognize warning signs, risk factors, and the prevalence of diabetes in the U.S.
• Explore complications associated with diabetes—especially its link to heart disease, stroke, kidney issues, and nerve damage
• Learn self-care strategies: healthy eating, consistent physical activity, stress management, blood sugar monitoring, and medication adherence
• Foster emotional well-being through discussion and peer support.
